By accessing or using the TrainAChild platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including but not limited to sponsors, administrators, and visitors.

2. Definitions

• "Platform" refers to the TrainAChild website and all associated services.
• "Sponsor" refers to individuals or organizations who provide financial support for children's education.
• "Beneficiary" refers to children who receive educational support through the platform.
• "Administrator" refers to TrainAChild staff who manage the platform.
• "Sponsorship" refers to the financial commitment made by a sponsor to support a beneficiary's education.

3. Eligibility

To use this Service, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under Nigerian law or any other applicable jurisdiction
• Provide accurate and complete registration information

4. Account Registration

4.1 Account Creation

To become a sponsor, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4.2 Account Security

You agree to:

• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Ensure your account information remains accurate and up-to-date

5. Sponsorship Terms

5.1 Sponsorship Commitment

When you sponsor a child, you commit to providing financial support for their education as specified in the sponsorship agreement. Sponsorships are typically for one academic year but may vary.

5.2 Use of Funds

All sponsorship funds are used exclusively for:

• School fees and tuition
• Educational materials (books, uniforms, supplies)
• Transportation to and from school (when applicable)
• Platform administrative costs (not exceeding 10% of total funds)

5.3 Reporting and Updates

Sponsors will receive regular updates about their sponsored child's progress, including:

• Quarterly academic reports
• Photos and personal messages (subject to child and guardian consent)
• Information about significant milestones or challenges

6.3 Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

• Duplicate payments made in error
• Technical errors during payment processing
• Beneficiary withdrawal from the program before funds are disbursed

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the original transaction. Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Upload harmful code or malware
• Harass, abuse, or harm any beneficiary or other user
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Use the Service to solicit personal information from minors

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TrainAChild and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our express written permission.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. However, any outstanding sponsorship commitments will remain in effect unless otherwise agreed.

10. Limitation of Liability

TrainAChild serves as a facilitator connecting sponsors with beneficiaries. While we make every effort to ensure the proper use of funds and the welfare of beneficiaries:

• We cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes
• We are not liable for actions of schools, guardians, or beneficiaries
• Our liability is limited to the amount of your sponsorship contribution
• We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the platform. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

We will notify sponsors of significant changes via email or platform notification.
