What is TrainAChild?

TrainAChild is a platform that connects sponsors with less-advantaged children who need educational support. We help facilitate direct sponsorship of school fees, books, and other educational expenses for children across Nigeria.

How does TrainAChild work?

Our process is simple:

  1. Browse profiles of children who need educational support
  2. Select a child whose story resonates with you
  3. Make a secure payment for their school fees
  4. Receive regular updates on their academic progress

Is TrainAChild a registered organization?

Yes, TrainAChild is a registered non-profit organization committed to eradicating illiteracy one child at a time. We operate with full transparency and accountability.

Sponsorship Questions

How much does it cost to sponsor a child?

The cost varies depending on the child's school and class level. Each child's profile clearly shows their exact school fee amount.

Can I sponsor more than one child?

Absolutely! Many of our sponsors support multiple children. There's no limit to the number of children you can sponsor. Each sponsorship makes a meaningful difference in a child's life.

Can I choose which child to sponsor?

Yes! You can browse all available children's profiles and select the one(s) you'd like to support. You can filter by location, age, school level, and funding status to find a child that resonates with you.

What if I can't afford the full amount?

You can make a partial contribution toward a child's education. Multiple sponsors can contribute to the same child until their school fees are fully funded. Every amount helps!

Can I communicate directly with the child I sponsor?

For safeguarding reasons, all communications are facilitated through TrainAChild administrators. However, you'll receive regular updates, progress reports, and occasional messages from your sponsored child.

Payment Questions

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments through Stripe, which supports:

  • Debit/Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • International payments
  • Secure Online Transactions

Is my payment secure?

Yes, all payments are processed through Stripe, a secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never store your payment information on our servers.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes, you'll receive an email receipt immediately after your payment is confirmed. You can also download the receipt instantly once your payment is completed.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Once a payment is made, it's immediately allocated to the child's school fees. However, if there are exceptional circumstances, please contact us at info@trainachildglobal.org to discuss your situation.

Updates & Reports

How often will I receive updates?

You'll receive quarterly progress reports (every 3 months) and occasional special updates about achievements, events, or important milestones. You can view all updates anytime in your dashboard.

What kind of updates will I receive?

Updates include academic progress reports, photos, achievement stories, health updates, and personal messages from the children. We ensure sponsors stay connected with their sponsored children's journey.

Account Questions

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, creating an account allows you to manage your sponsorships, view updates, download receipts, and track your impact. The signup process is quick and simple.

How do I reset my password?

Click on "Forgot Password" on the login page, enter your email address, and we'll send you a password reset link. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder or contact support.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can delete your account from the settings page. Please note that this will not affect any active sponsorships, which will continue as committed.
